New Year's Day Sail

View 01/01/2013 11:47am in a larger map All went smooth until we tried docking with the wind on our back end, and then the throttle arm came off in my hand. We had a heck of a time getting into the slip without bumping into anything. It was later discovered that the centerboard got kicked up so our steering was a bit iffy.

Docking Issues

The throttle came off in my hands and we think the centerboard was kicked up when trying to dock. The 12 knot blow on our starboard stern didn't help make it any easier.

These guys were quite close to us and were doing maneuvers at Albert Whitted  Airport. They cleared our mast by only several feet.

I think this is one of those container sailboats that have a really narrow beam and can be put into a container ship.

New Year's Eve Tree Display

Boat show was sweet.

We had a great time this year as usual. Lisa was asked by Bob Bichin to help chuck a bunch of kookiness into the crowd as I sat in the lone chair we both shared. The party see,Ed a bit more under control this year compared to last year,

We blew off the Sat sail and headed out for an early Sunday sail. The night previous, I had to make a night run to a 24 hour Walgreens to pick up ear plugs for theAmiral and SnoreEez so she could sleep.

We started releasing the binding lines and I fired up the iron genny. Got an overheat shriek alarm, shut down, waited a few minutes and realized we should go. We decided to do some scrubbing to remove bird droppings and that is when we did a MOB Drill for the brush Lisa lost. It is still lost.

A good time was had by all.
