Coast Guard Rescues Couple Missing off Fla. Coast With Disabled Engine - NBC News.com

It doesn't look like they were dismasted. Why couldn't they just start sailing towards the rising sun, or away from the setting sun? How can someone be adrift for that long? Lots of unaswered questions. Could it be that the skipper had some sort of health issues and the crew didn't know what to to? Lots of unaswered questions. Reporting isn't like it used to be.

Oooh. A few miles north of us.

Northbound I75 at rest stop mile marker 304 - ran into a tri-guy

I was driving home from work and passed a Farrier and took his pictures. I popped into the 314 exit, got gas and continued driving. I caught up to him and followed him into the rest stop and he must have thought I was stalking him. I told him we had a Telstar and he said he just got back from going over to the Bahamas and back leaving from Sarasota. He was from Alaska and last year he had sailed down around the Baja. Really nice guy and could have talked with him about sailing all day, but he pulled over to the rest stop for a reason. I didn't think it would be proper for me to follow into the can can. He said his tri was built for some rich Italian and was all carbon fiber including the furniture. He said it was superfast and super light. Said he can easily cruise at 20k and has hit 25k. I continued home thinking I would like to do that really soon before I get too old.
